Safety Precautions

  • Do not leave a burning pillar candle unattended. Always extinguish the candle before leaving the room.

  • Ensure candle is kept away from any flammable material and placed in a location where debris or objects are unable to come into contact or fall onto the candle.

  • Place the pillar or contour candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Avoid placing it on wooden surfaces or near flammable materials.

  • Before each use, trim the candle wick to approximately 6mm to prevent excessive smoking and ensure a clean burn.

  • Place lit candles 10cm apart to avoid melting or warping of nearby candles.

  • Keep pillar candles or contour candle away from drafts, as this can cause uneven burning and dripping.

  • If the pillar candle or contour candle is designed to be burned inside a container, ensure the container is heat-resistant and large enough to contain any melted wax.

  • If the pillar candle or contour candle is scented, ensure that the fragrance is suitable for indoor use and does not cause irritation. Avoid placing strongly scented candles in small, enclosed spaces.

  • Keep candles out of reach of children and pets. Never allow them to play with or near an open flame.

  • Do not move candle once it has been lit. To avoid wax spillage and potential burns, extinguish the candle, wait for wax to resolidify and then move as desired

  • When moving or carrying our Signature Concrete Candles, do not lift the candle by the wax portion of the candle, gently pick candle up by the concrete base to prevent breakage or separation of the wax and concrete.

  • *Contour candles are designed to be decorative piece, should you wish to burn your contour candle, place on a non staining, heat resistant surface. The shape of some candles will result in wax spillage, this is unavoidable due to slim shape and design of some contour candles.*

Fire Safety: In case of a fire, use a fire extinguisher or call emergency services immediately. Do not use water to extinguish a wax fire

First Aid: If hot wax comes into contact with skin, cool the affected area with cold water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

Burning and Maintenance Instructions

Initial Burn: The first time you burn your pillar candle, allow it to burn one hour for every 25mm in diameter. The candle must be extinguished when the melt pool reaches 1cm from the edge of the candle itself. This will determine the life of the candle and ensures wax won’t melt beyond the initial melt pool causing the candle to drip. Following this step will also prevent tunnelling.

Burn in Intervals: It's recommended to burn pillar candles in intervals of 2-4 hours to prevent overheating and prolong the life of the candle. Do not exceed 4 hours.

Extinguish Safely: Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame to extinguish the candle. Avoid using the candle lid or blowing forcefully, as this can cause hot wax to splatter.

Storage: Store pillar candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading and warping.

Clean Wax Drips: If wax drips onto the surface, allow it to cool and harden. Gently remove excess wax using a plastic or wooden utensil. Do not use metal objects that can scratch or damage the surface.

Dispose of Properly: Once the pillar candle has burned down to the bottom, discard any remaining wax and the wick holder. The container can be cleaned and repurposed or recycled.
