Safety Precautions

  • Do not leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish the candle before leaving the room.

  • Do not burn container candles for more than 3-4 hours at a time. Allow the wax to liquefy completely across the surface forming a complete melt pool to prevent tunnelling and ensure an even burn.

  • Ensure candle is kept away from any flammable material and placed in a location where debris or objects are unable to come into contact or fall onto the candle.

  • Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Avoid placing it on wooden surfaces or near flammable materials.

  • Before each use, trim the candle wick to approximately 6mm to prevent excessive smoking and ensure a clean burn.

  • Place lit candles 10cm apart to avoid overheating of nearby candles.

  • Keep the candle away from drafts, as this can cause uneven burning.

  • If the candle is scented, ensure that the fragrance is suitable for indoor use and does not cause irritation. Avoid placing strongly scented candles in small, enclosed spaces.

  • Keep candles out of reach of children and pets. Never allow them to play with or near an open flame.

  • Do not move candle once it has been lit. To avoid wax spillage and potential burns, extinguish the candle, wait for wax to resolidify  and the container to cool and then move as desired.

  • Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame to extinguish the candle. Avoid blowing forcefully or tipping the candle to prevent hot wax from splattering.

Fire Safety: In case of a fire, use a fire extinguisher or call emergency services immediately. Do not use water to extinguish a wax fire

First Aid: If hot wax comes into contact with skin, cool the affected area with cold water. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

Burning and Maintenance Instructions

Initial Burn: The first time you burn your container candle, allow it to burn one hour for every 25mm in diameter. Do not extinguish before the melt pool reaches the edge of the vessel. This will determine the life of the candle, following this step will also prevent tunnelling.

Burn in Intervals: It's recommended to burn container candles in intervals of 3-4 hours to prevent overheating and prolong the life of the candle. Do not exceed 4 hours. Cease burning and discard of candle once wax reaches 12.5mm from the bottom of the vessel. This will prevent the vessel from overheating and breaking or damaging the surface beneath the candle. *Cease burning and discard of candle once the pillar candle has 5cm of wax depth remaining*.

Extinguish Safely: Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame to extinguish the candle. Avoid using the candle lid or blowing forcefully, as this can cause hot wax to splatter.

Storage: Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Dispose of Properly: Once the  candle has burned down to the bottom, discard any remaining wax and the wick holder. The container can be cleaned and repurposed or recycled.
